The second edition of the Intensive Course for the students of TUFTS University in Boston(Summer Intensive Program in Computer and Data Science 2023) is going to end this week.
The first edition was held during Summer 2022. This year was a great success, both in terms of results and participation.
25 TUFTS University students spent 5 weeks in Pavia for an intensive course in computer science plus another course to improve their Italian. The students were not all of US nationality, some were Latin Americans and others came from Africa and Asia: therefore, Palazzo Vistarino – which hosted them – proved to be a vibrant international center, once again.
The 25 lucky ones not only dedicated themselves to study, but also took part in cultural initiatives, such as trips to discover the beauties of Italy (Turin, Milan, the 5 Terre) as well as the excellence of the Pavia area (a food and wine visit to Oltrepò, with food and wine tasting during a lesson focused on the Mediterranean diet).
The initiative is managed by the Alma Mater Ticinensis Foundation and the University of Pavia (GLOBEC Center), in close collaboration with the Tufts Global Education.
