Dear Colleagues Dear Students,
The evolution of the coronavirus diffusion suggests, in accordance with the civil and health authorities, to adopt preventative measures for the protection of the population and the university environment; these measures are shared by all the universities in Lombardy.
As a result, starting from the 24th of February and until Sunday the 1st of March, in all premises of the university (inside and outside the municipality of Pavia), only as a mere protective measure, all the didactic activities are suspended (such as lessons and seminars) as well as exams (included graduations), conferences and exams related to public competitions. Access to the libraries will be permitted only for the borrowing and returning of books, not for consultation and study.
If absence of further communication it is intended that the normal program of activities will start again from the 2nd of March.
Students residing in the municipalities interested by the dispositions indicated in the previous communications that, after the 1st of March, will still not be able to attend the university will sit their exams in a different session.
These measures will not affect the other activities related to teachers and administrative personnel thus continuing  as usual (except for those residing in the areas indicated).
Further useful and relevant communications can follow in any moment, timely and accurately.
I express my deepest closeness to the whole community, especially to those who could find themselves in the most uncomfortable situation.
Francesco Svelto
Chancellor of the University of Pavia
